Big Brother 2007 Day Fourteen

The Friday games had a Japanese Quiz Show theme. Highlight was Jamie psyching out Travis is an endurance challenge. The final round was a luck based one really. The final two contestants answering questions in turn knowing that when a secret countdown ended the person whose turn it was would be dunked into fishguts and automatically lose. Hayley got a lot wrong in a row but managed to get one right just in time to turn the arrow back and win. She took Andrew (of course) into the Rewards Room with her.

Big Brother 2007 Day Thirteen

Hayley and Bodie have a big fall out, causing tensions among the housemates. Hayley is not very impressed. Hayley made an astute observation that Bodie is playing the game and has paired up with TJ to help keep him in the house.

Big Brother 2007 Day Twelve

The housemates get time to bond around the fishpond, catching an ejected fish at random times. Bodie is shown pretty negatively, Bec tries to bond but he's not that interested and she later bitches about him to Zoran who totally agrees Zoran. (Zoran is very cute and hasn't got enough attention so this would good). Bodie and TJ are also pretty rude when the new white room housemate, Demet comes into the house.

Big Brother 2007 Day Eleven

Tonight episode focuses on Kate's breakdown when she learns the weekly task has them looking after babies. Did she leave out that she'd lost a baby on her application? I suppose it might not have come out but it does seem to be a big motivator for her being in the house.

Big Brother 2007 Day Ten

Jamie gets a bit of focus tonight, unhappy with being ignored by Emma for the farm task, he spends some time on the couch. Casting Emma as a bitch she's shown feeling not sympathy for him.

The White Room housemates contemplate acting together and walking out at once.

The inital nominees for eviction are Kate, Bodie, Emma. Emma's reward for winning Friday Night Games is to take one nominee of the list and choose someone else to be up. She saves herself and puts Jamie up for eviction.

Emma thinks most of the people are too geeky, not the sort of people she'd hang out with in real life. Bodie gets in trouble for discussing nominations (although he did so in a very vague way). He's punished by being made a non-housemate. The other housemates are told to not communicate with Bodie in anyway.

Big Brother 2007 Day Nine

The Housemates watch as Cruz goes for the money on offer and leaves the white room. Demet has a very hysterical reaction, almost a parody of an upset housemate. Cruz is taken to the rewards room where the windows reveal the other housemates for a glimpse and a wave.

Hayley's two relationships are revealed to the house to lots of cheering and surprise. TJ gets a bit upset at an offhand comment from Hayley that becomes a misunderstanding, but it's wrapped up quickly and Hayley and Thomas go to bed together.

Kate and one of the blond girls (I'm still a bit confused by them all) catch TJ hiding stuff in the kitchen late in the night.

Big Brother 2007 Day Eight

Emma and Aleisha have gone into the rewards room. They learnt that the new prize is that the housemates in the rewards room can discuss nominations. The girls are getting annoyed by the way Thomas is flirting and he's attacked on it causing a bit of an argument. TJ has also managed to scare the others who don't want to get on her bad side.

The weekly tasks are assigned and this leads to Emma and Kate fighting. Kate really annoys me in the way she thinks she's so much better than everyone else. Big Brother actually tells her off for threatening violence towards Emma. She gets a warning and the threat of early eviction. Kate tells Hayley she's hating it in the house. She could very well be the earliest out.

Hayley and Andrew head into the diary room together for a chance to talk honestly, kiss and hold each other, and not worry about someone walking in on them.

Big Brother 2007 Day Seven

The first Friday Night Games has a Gladiator theme. An obstacle course that ended with the eating of a raw egg. The guys had to wear a false bottom for unknown reasons, other than the pun (gluteus maximus). Bodie had the most impressive attempt jumping his way through. The next rounds include various housemates spinning a wheel (by running around in circles) and then having to traverse a beam, riding a mechanical bull dressed up as a lion, and traverse a path blindfolded. The final task takes place in the air on suspended beams and Emma is the overall victor.

Big Brother 2007 Day Six

TJ, self proclaiming herself as the alpha female, is going after Thomas but although she's calling him a game player, she's the one playing games with him. She's clearly upset her advances were over and is now bitching with Katie that he's as feminine as a man can get without being gay.

Katie's not winning me over as she sits in the diary room and complains that the rest of the housemates are immature and unintelligent. She thinks the boys are controlled by their hormones and they don't have a clue what a real woman is. This translates to none of the guys like me.

Thomas tells Hayley that he thinks she and Andrew would get along. Hayley has to keep a poker face. Bodie is onto it though thinking that Hayley and Andrew are the couple realising correctly that Hayley is trying to throw the HMs off the scent.

Andrew and Billy have a bit of a late night chat in the backyard and Hayley has a cry in the diary room. The preview says this story should be wrapped up this weekend and the unscripted drama can continue.

Thursday, April 26, 2007

Big Brother 2007 Day Five

Andrew and Hayley still a few kisses today while the other housemates are out in the room. I'm surprised they lasted this long to do that, but it's risky. If they keep it up someone is sure to stumble across them.

Big Brother 2007 Day Four

Billy's new task is to become Hayley's best friend. Everything he does for himself, he has to do for her as well. Shameless Big Brother. He gets her glasses of water, give her flowers, takes her out to pick herbs.

Hayley and Andrew finally have some time alone in the chill out room. Andrew seems to be more jealous of Thomas than Billy, which is interesting given Billy's actions all day that have not gone unnoticed. It's tough on both of them but it makes me think the producers have set this up to guarantee there's drama in the house. The problem is it overshadows the real drama.

Jamie is up early working out before everyone else is up, possibly feeling some body pressure from the looks of the other "reflects all walks of life" housemates. Rebecca feels out of it too and is relating well to Jamie, both feeling unacknowledged and sitting apart snarking about the other housemates.

Emma doesn't know who this Foghorn Leghorn that Bodie speaks of is. Is that a generation thing or a blond thing?

Early this morning the HMs are woken for a dawn service. I can't recall if the housemates have been in the house on an ANZAC Day before. Usually the show starts in May.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

Big Brother 2007 Day Three

The rooster alarm clock surprises me; they're already tending to animals? The role seems unofficially assigned so far. The HMs are quick to start fitness routines on only their second day in the house.

Jamie's got the same complaint of many past housemates, feeling concerned because he's the loud one in his group but overwhelmed in the house. Travis sounds a lot like Frizie from a couple of years ago.

Hayley's trying to throw everyone off her scent convincing a couple of the guys that she doesn't connect with him and that she thinks he might be gay.

Thomas is being presented as a rival (he's pretty but very lanky) until an actual rival comes in. When Billy walks in Hayley freaks out but tries to hide it (not very well from the cameras though). Andrew asks him a lot of questions but that could be clever editing.

Billy has to wish her goodnight and the camera shows a not impressed reaction from Andrew which could also be good editing. Hayley can't talk about the fact she knows either guy to anyone but Big Brother and currently it looks like she might fail on that.

Big Brother 2007 Day Two

Andrew and Hayley are a pre-existing couple, together for a year exactly before going in. They have to remain undetected to stay in the house as a couple in much the same way as the Logans.

The four not voted in are going to be housemates in the white room which might mean the housemates will be able to watch other housemates?

Big Brother tells everyone, but the couple, that they have a secret insider task to find out who the couple are, explicitly telling them that it's a couple they are seeking.

No one's particularly subtle about it but it helps that they are in the early days and can ask about relationships and crushes and things like that. Although any mention of boyfriend or girlfriend seems to make the whole house prick up their ears.

The show had a long segment focusing on a vulgar comment and the repercussions of it within the house, with an unofficial house rule to "walk away" if they don't like it (almost a sly turn the channel if it's offensive to you.)

Big Brother 2007 Day One

There's four secrets this year: no money for the housemates; we choose the last two of the original housemates; a secret, very-challenging room; and two existing relationships that one insider-type will be given the task of finding out.

House changes? The sauna's separate from the bathroom now, out in the backyard. Lots of recycled products used to make stuff, going with an environmental friendly approach. The house colours are a bit more muted, browns and blue.

The inclusion of a phone is interesting. The chill out room, for three people to have privacy (other than the window), looks a little silly. One big bedroom connected by a locked door and switchable glass to the rewards room.

First impressions of the housemates:
  • Hayley - I like her, she's got that nice-fitness-person attitude, that might get on HMs nerves
  • TJ - Shes a bit too young and spunky to last too long unless there's a romance
  • Rebecca - Our Mormon is our straightlaced girl which would put her up for nominations, but she might also fly under the radar
  • Kate - described as debater she's being positioning as someone who will argue, but I suspect she won't last that long
  • Emma - come across as one of the less-nice-fitness-person
  • Aleisha - the youngest so far shes got an innocence that might carry her through
  • Jamie - the nerdy guy could last a while but hes a bit too happy to be in there
  • Bodie - is like the opposite to Jamie, and reminds me of John from last year. Pretty but a bit up himself
  • Andrew - Firefighter is cuter because he seems more like a nice guy
  • Joel - way too full of himself, he's totally someone to go
  • Thomas - ok forget about those other two, he's gorgeous and so well presented. He might last a while
  • Travis - the most blokey of the guys so far and I don't like him much so far and suspect he'll be an alpha male

I think Emma and Rebecca might be one of the existing relationships, they looked very alike in the photos in the package.

Of the housemates to vote in, I think Zoran's very cute which is as good a reason as any to vote.

Big Brother 2006 Week Three

14 May 2006
While Michael sucks Ashley in with the story of his son, the rest of the house is preoccupied with Jaimie and Katie. Outside the house Katie says she's "I'm not very commitment person" but inside, as a joke she's getting married to Jaimie. She may get cold feet though, and if she does it looks like Anna is ready to move straight on in there. Jaimie and Katie have a conversation about it, but it's quite painful to watch. They can't have a "relationship relationship" says Jaimie but what does that mean asks Katie. Good point. Still they go through with a mock wedding, but will they consummate it? It will make good telly for the Adults Only show if they do!

13 May 2006
In last night's office games, Michael was the ultimate winner, taking runner up Ashley into the rewards room with him. Poor Claire though didn't get to play thanks to the odd numbers. When the housemates pair up at the beginning she's the one who has no one standing beside her. She gets sent back to the house where she has to sit on a chair alone until the games are over. In the second round the housemates, in large office worker suits, get tied together in their teams of four and have to make it through a course. The result is of course hilarious. The third round was a poor idea, with the housemates having to sell products to the eliminated housemates who then score it. So really it comes down to who they like more and who they want to win.

12 May 2006
The team easily win the dam task, with plenty of water still in the task. Overnight though while the guys are the guys are minding it, Gaelan, Dino and Jaimie make fun of the girls and Michael. Michael gets a reward of chocolate biscuits but he has to eat them all in the house without getting caught. He goes outside, telling the housemates that he needs some time alone, and scoffs them down. The other housemates find his behaviour odd, particularly Dino. Krystal blames it on him finding out about her and her mum. Michael finally comes out with his story, telling David about his eight year old son Reuben who may not actually be his son thanks to a recent paternity test. David buys it completely.

11 May 2006
Camilla and Anna are up early holding the leaking water at bay and Anna's ready to give up after ten minutes. As the day progresses the housemates keep those at the tank company. Talk goes to who the housemates find attractive physically and emotionally. These leads to comments about Karen and David who are perceived as arrogant and think they are too mature to join in the fun with the rest of them. Claire gives more weight to the idea that Gaelan is actually more likable then comes through on the show. Michael decides that he can get nominated if he convinces the others that he wants to leave. He brings it up at the family dinner, claiming that there was some family issues before he came into the house. The others don't press him on details but it seems to work, except on Jaimie who sees right through it. He doesn't see it as an insider task, but has doubts about the authenticity of it all. He's brighter than he looks.

10 May 2006
David's given the odd task of telling the housemates that they have to collect every rubber duck from the house and that they can not sit or lay down until further notice. Karen's sent to the punishment room for sitting down during the collection and has to stare at a dot until further notice. She struggles losing $10,000 in seconds but then manages to stick it out for ten minutes. The ducks are put into a tank for the new challenge which involves them keeping the water from getting out by daming the holes.

For failing the task last week insider Michael is given the reward of special food. He gets five minutes to dine on pasta, bread, deserts and beer, but being minutes out of bed he's not quite ready for. Meanwhile this is contrasted by the housemates talking about wanting food, and Katie noticing the smell of food 'just like the rewards room' near the bedroom.

9 May 2006
When Ashley loses the house their dinner by tasting it which prompts Camilla to lead the housemates in protest to Big Brother, but it falls on deaf ears. Dino and Michael are getting to the girls. Perhaps in order to gain some power the girls realise they need to take down the two alpha males down a peg? Michael proves to be too tough an opponent for Krystal to argue with. Dino, worried or paranoid, confronts, in his laid back manner, the girls about the Friday games. It's not quite the huge war the ads suggest, but it gets more intense when Michael joins in. It will probably work to his advantage given his new insider task of getting himself nominated.

8 May 2006
The aftermath of the eviction of Elise and Tilli is interesting. The girls seemed to be worried about being outnumbered. Given that a week ago they were in the same situation, with two girls gone forever as far as they knew, this is odd that it's a worry. Unless, of course, last week it was an issue. If it was it never came through in the daily shows.

Big Brother 2006 Week Two

7 May 2006
Dino and Claire bond by being in the rewards room and bathing together. Dino doesn't think she's as stuck up or as dorky as he initially suspected. Ashley flat out doesn't find her attractive at all. Meanwhile Dino is the talk of other people too, both David and Karen very unhappy with how aggressive he was in the games. When Michael hears this he runs to Dino to tell him. Somehow, despite being very laid back Dino has become the alpha male in the house, and Michael is clearly trying to keep his favour. With David gay, Gaelen the funny one (so say the evictees), Jaimie caught up with Katie, Michael busy being a mole, and the others just boys, the role was his to grab, but does he realise he rules the roost?

Michael and Elyse talk about what they wanted to get out of the house, and for Michael that included a girlfriend. While he's succeeded this week as the Insider, his antics as such are hurting any chances with the ladies. The girls already think he's a player for being the age he is and not having long term relationship. A short term relationship was the friendship between Anna and Camilla. Since coming back from the Rewards Room the two have quickly become unfriendly again with a big argument over fines. Meanwhile Katie doesn't think anything will last with Jaimie as she thinks he has eyes for other girls in the house.

Fines are no laughing matter for Big Brother, the house has lost $300,000 so far. The punishment room has been revealed and Michael is the first to be sent there. He's given an Amazing Race style task, sorting 10,000 pins and needles into 5,000 pins and 5,000 needles. He's determined it's not going to break him though.

6 May 2006
Down on the farm his week for the Friday games. Instead of going straight in to teams the HMs play a musical chairs type game where the person who doesn't get one of hidden items goes out. They then get to divide into teams based on their own choice and play as normal. It gets down to the final two chasing a remote control chicken and Dino takes it out over Claire, but takes the loser with him into the reward room.

5 May 2006
Ashley gets punished to stand for three hours for derogatory comments towards Big Brother. Katie and Jamie are getting pretty close which is a focus of today's installment. They are the first couple this year but will they be the last? Jamie is annoyed by the unintelligence displayed by Ashley. Michael tries more sabotage, destroying some balloons, but he's taking an awful long time in there. The others are seeing that he's dodgy.

4 May 2006
Dino observes that WW3 in BB6 has begun, with Camilla and Anna on one side and Tilli and Krystal on the other. Katie falls into the former camp and Karen follows her daughter in the second. Claire's worried she falls somewhere between the cracks. The fight really is between Anna and Krystal and then sort of separately Tilli and Camilla. Elise is nowhere to be seen. The girls try to make up after the family dinner, but it seems forced smiles and face saving.

While Ashley and Jaimie discuss the latter's kiss with Katie, Katie discusses it with Anna. Both are unsure what to do next, but it's going to get weird. Katie's not even sure if she wants to share the bed with him anymore.

3 May 2006
Michael stays up late in the morning to sabotage the task. But this works against him because when the damaged umbrella is found Dino is quick to recognise him as the most likely culprit. Michael's still in bed having had such a late night and when pushed about it he's very defensive.

The girls in the revenge room get the housemates up very early for an all in effort in the week's clowning task. For John's 21st BB throws him a Brazilian themed party complete with a special present: the return of Anna and Camilla. Krystal and especially Tilli aren't impressed. The guys don't seem all that phased in comparison, but Tilli has the claws out.

Jamie and Katie become the first to passionately kiss in the house.

2 May 2006
Tilly gets her tearful outburst out of the way after comments about her and David were acting are made by Camilla and Karen.

Michael guesses the relationship wrongly, Gaelan and Anna aren't the two. When Krytsal reveals that Karen is her mum the house is in roars of surprise, except Michael who is completely quiet and looks shocked and upset. This lasts a minute or two before he puts a face on and starts being loud. Is it because of he failed the task and is up for eviction... or because of the feelings happening between them?

Asked to vote for the most annoying housemates, David shatters my hopes by voting for Dino because of his homophobic attitudes. Anna and Camilla are given the boot but end up in the Revenge Room. They have to cause as much havoc as possible in the house by taking their revenge on the housemates that voted them out

Re-entering the house while all housemates are called to the diary room, they sneak in, take toilet paper and put itching powder in the beds but it goes pretty much unnoticed.

1 May 2006
Dino is punished for talking without his microphone by sorting out 500 nuts and bolts. Despite this they keep playing a game of dares. John now dares Dino to call Dani 'Pumpkin' all day. Good example of how the housemates entertain themselves in the house. The girls decide to pay them back by stealing all their doonas and blankets. Gaelan, John and Jaimie get in trouble when they enter the girl's bedroom to get them back, breeching the rules of the week's task. Surprisingly the housemates are told that it's a double eviction and that the viewers have chosen who they think is under the radar increasing the number of housemates up this week.

Big Brother 2006 Week One

30 April 2006
Activities following the games focus on the ongoing dramas. Tilli seems to be moving on David, despite his sexuality, causing friction with Camilla who's jealous. She's has put too much time in with David and it appears to have been a bad move. Michael and Krystal continue to flirt, and with some bed swapping they end up in bed together. Karen gets to look on motherly. To finish the week's task the housemates answer questions about each other, with most taking the third question, worth more points but with the risk of being shocked for getting it wrong. The chores, assigned by Gaelan, prove to be a bit of an issue when Camilla tries to clear the dinner plates but is told off by Anna. Anna then runs into conflict with the rest of the housemates over wanting oats for breakfast.

29 April 2006
Because of the odd numbers, Camilla doesn't get picked for a team and is given a direct pass to the second round. Krystal and Karen are team captains because they were the first two out of bed. The theme this week is Cavemen and the housemates get to bash each other with clubs, drive around in a Flintstones type car, and throw spears at Ashley's bum, and then in the final round Gaelan and Katie had to knock the head off each other's hat with a big stick. Katie gets the first blow in but Gaelan wins and takes his opponent into the Rewards Room.

28 April 2006
Karen's photos are still missing from last night and they've narrowed it down to the people who went to the toilet during dinner, which includes Michael. Will they realise it's a mole?

Dino thinks that Gaelan and Tilli have a good chance at winning. I realise I don't know who Tilli is! I may have at times got her confused with Claire. The lineup task has actually had an immediate result today with the five lined up as the most lazy (Jaimie, John, Elise, Camilla, and Katie) given the task to clean the house.

The housemates, well at least Michael and Dino, are getting a bit annoyed with Camilla which could hurt her in the coming housemate eviction. Ash meanwhile is impressing on the BBQ which will help him.

Elise feels overwhelmed about not fitting in or being able to be herself, and is the first to really crack it in this house this year.

Babies are created by combining features of housemates and they then need to guess who the parents are. Part of this is to give a clue to the Krystal and Karen combination, but no one clues into it.

Tilli takes advantage of David by giving him a kiss, but then gets worries she's upset Camilla.

Katie and Jaimie get close to nomination talk, even realising that they probably shouldn't be. Katie shows great intuition by picking Michael as a mole, something that Jaimie agrees with once it's pointed out.

27 April 2006
Last night there were tears, there were hugs, and there was yelling at the TV to get off the dialup competitions: the answer's DAILY, we get it, now get back to the housemates. David has come out in what was apparently the 'best coming out speech ever'. They didn't replay it, but it may feature in today's daily show, or be transcribed somewhere on the blogosphere. It's seems to have had a pretty typical reaction: the girls are all over him with questions, the guys have not much more than a word or two to say. Jaimie scores some respect by being the only guy I saw with anything intelligent to say on it and being the least obviously phased by it of all the male housemates. Camila is shaken by it, but is very understanding and is doing a lot of talking with him. David explains he's doing it for all the gay country boys, and especially those who can't live with it. He even, in a very gutsy move, admits he has been in a position of not wanting to live with it. David opens up about who he fancies in the house (the dark haired boys basically) and shows his previously hidden photos to the girls. He describes how hard it was for him not being able to join in conversations because he was trying to keep a secret. It's the best up-late since Merlin fought Paul two years ago, and it's also great television for breaking down boundaries and misconceptions and showing. Unfortunately it's all happening late at night when few are watching. More people need to see what coming out is like and I hope they get the chance. Go David!

26 April 2006
As I probably won't get to see today's episode of Big Brother until tomorrow, here's a more reflective post instead. So far not many of the housemates have been given a chance to make their impact. The producers are focusing on three/four main people who are closely related to the 'story' they want to tell, rather than giving us a look at the natural status of the household. We've see lots of Michael because he's the insider, lots of David because of the secret in his closest, and lots of Krystal/Karen as they hide their relationship. Almost everyone else has been shown in relation to these three plots or not at all, with the only real exception being Jaimie. People in the house seem to dislike Anna, but we've barely seen her. Dino, John and Ashley have made cameo appearances, Gaylen gets a bit more screen time but only because his bed was wet by the Insider. Camilla is being set up for rejection with David, which could make David seem cruel for leading her on. (Actually I wonder if David realises he's not in 'Playing it Straight'?). Claire got screen time for incorrectly picking the relationship, in turn giving Elise some presence, and I'm sure that bleached orange woman is in there too somewhere. She'd be hard to miss since she probably glows in the dark. Hopefully the series will progress past these pre-planned storylines and be allowed to develop more organically and let us see more of the other housemates.

Update: I just received my Big Brother update email which leads with a story about the David being openly gay but in the closet in the house. No surprise that he's gay given the picture in DNA magazine circulating the web, nor given the 'I'm hiding a secret' discussion he had with Big Brother yesterday, and did you notice that in his introduction video on Sunday he didn't specify what sex his partner should be? What this email has me thinking is though that the daily show producers thought that being explicit about what the secret was, was inappropriate for the 7:00 timeslot. What!?! The show's had openly gay men and bisexual women on it before and I don't recall that only being mentioned in the later shows. The tagline "some of the housemates share the same secret" leads me to believe that there's at least a few other closest cases to be found, but would they really go so far as to avoid mentioning sexuality?

25 April 2006
Michael is assigned the role of the insider by the viewers. He can't really refuse though because he'll be evicted if he does. His first task is to pour water into two fellow housemate's bed. He get this half right, not emptying the bottle and choosing the only bed in the house (Gaylen's) that only has one person sleeping in it. He does better on his broader mission of trying to find out the relationship, getting closer than he realises by discussing it with Krystal. Michael then tries to get some opinions from David, who has his own thing to hide. David quotes the Transformers theme song which I give him points for. There's in show reference to him having a secret yet to reveal, "it's huge". He feels close to Camilla, his bedmate, but she likes him too bit more than he can reciprocate. She's all touchy-feely but may get hurt when David's secret comes out.

24 April 2006
David's modelling comes out (and according to the Herald Sun there's something else that needs to come out about David) and all the girls agree that he's really pretty, including Camilla whose hand gets up close and personal with his inner thigh. Jaime is getting off to a bad start getting fines for talking without his microphone and joking about the rules. In the diary room he tells BB about the girls he was just talking with, and is fond of Krystal (although he doesn't know her name), but thinks Anna is very superficial. Or as he describes later "sexy but unattractive" a thought that John agrees on.

Karen seems more like the daughter when Krystal asks her to eat some breakfast but they are so far keeping it "mum".

David's the first up on the first morning by far and spends almost two hours forlornly waiting for someone else to get out of bed. Anna is the first to do so. In the diary room, Claire seems quite ocker as she voices her theory that Michael and Elise are a couple. She also discusses her evidence more clearly with John and has a convincing case actually.

In discussion with Karen, David's very obviously playing the pronoun game and his secret photo of two men on horseback makes it glaring. I wonder how they plan to reveal this?

23 April 2006
The new housemates have entered the house for the sixth series of Big Brother.
  • Michael, comes across as gay, given his comments about women, and he's very polished and muscular, but he cheats on women, cocky
  • Camilla things she's loud and messy and a chronic cheater
  • Gaelan, he thinks he's sexy but there's something were off putting about him, very overtanned orange. His idol's Beckham and I can see
  • Oh but then wew Katie, whose bleached blond hair shows off her extra orange skankiness
  • Hippy Karen is the oldest of the housemates but I don't think she's motherly enough for the others to want to keep her in there.
  • David, is one hell of a hot farmer (unlike Glen or Marty) I wonder if country bumpkin will appear
  • Tilli, another ballerina, infectious but I wonder is she'll fall to trap of BB's first one?
  • Dino is so my type it's not funny so he's won me over already
  • John puts too much time into his hair and has an off-putting swarmy attitude and confidence
  • Anna comes across as the nicest, despite her looks she doesn't seem too full of herself
  • Ashley, ah here's the yobbo, the V8 loving ten pin bowling, tough guy
  • Elise, ambitious, but as an only child may have trouble in the house
  • Claire the straight edge, netballer cat handler, will she open up in the house?
  • Krystal favourite feature is her new boobs and she wants to get in to tv and movies, please
  • Jamie, big and muscular, but bored with him already
One of the twists this year is that Krystal and Karen are mother and daughter. They have to keep it secret for a week like the Logans did last year. Karen stands out though as she's much older than everyone else in the house. The fact they both had their boobs done eight months ago is a little obvious. The other twist is that one of the housemates will be an insider (read Mole) for Big Brother and we get to choose who that will be. I'd vote David just as being the insider might help him stay in longer, and I already don't like Michael or Camilla.

Big Brother 2005 Week Fourteen

8 August 2005
Vesna freaks out when the boys barricade her outside so they can continue their ball games without fear of hitting her. Tim gives the goats a ride on his back. Mel leaves in the eviction, which she was expecting. After her farewell video Greg and Vesna have an argument: Greg doesn't like being told that he's hard to get to know, or rather what that implies. In return for toilet paper the remaining HMs put on an impromptu play set at a hairdressing salon. It's not going to earn a Logie says BB, but it does earn them each a roll of toilet paper.

9 August 2005
There's something about Nadia. Since BB pulled the same trick last year there's no reason for the HMs not to be thinking it straight away. Miriam looked more like a woman than Nadia does so it's not that hard for them to pick it up. The HMs give her a tour then they have a special dinner in a converted store room. When she pops out to the bathroom Greg, Vesna and Tim (who runs back) compare notes but wont bring it up. Greg and Vesna have another fight over what she thinks Greg's standards are. It's getting up there with Kate and Tim discussions in repetition. In the spa Vesna tries to politely ask Nadia about her background but Greg is more forward and just asks her if she's a transsexual. She gets upset about being categorised with labels and wanting to be just accepted as a woman, which if fair enough.

10 August 2005
After napping during the day BB gives Tim and Nadia the task of cleaning the outside windows. Nadia resists, getting some bread for afternoon tea, but is summoned to the diary room. She argues that she's a special guest not a Housemate, but gives in. Later Vesna gets the same instruction for the windows between the door and is upset by this. She's bored and annoyed by Big Brother. Nadia sums up the HMs for BB: Tim a cool geek, Greg eye-candy, Vesna in-your-face and loud but insecure. Greg plays a trick on her when she leaves the diary room jumping out to give her a fright.

11 August 2005
The HMs have some fun with Nadia in the house, doing an impromptu photo shoot with a Polaroid camera that allows them to give her a farewell present. She left the house and got to record a farewell video for the others. Without her the HMs are bored. They have an early night and BB concedes by turning off their lights early. Soon though Vesna is sobbing on her bed. The boys try to console her; she's scared about returning the real world.

12 August 2005
The days are getting long in the last run to the final show. Vesna is feeling a little lost while the boys are spending their time together and in the gym. The HMs get to watch brief videos to share their real world with each other. Greg and Vesna end up in tears and Tim is quite delighted too, but also realises what Vesna means about how scary the idea of going back to the real world is after so long.

13 August 2005
In the final round of games the housemates have a chance to win back all the money they've lost through fines. The tasks are more personal challenges rather than competitions. Gretel joins them in the house to take them through each one. The first round contains one those bouncy castles with the bungee ropes. Greg goes first and does reasonably well. Vensa takes it more slowly but has trouble getting too far, and Tim falls somewhere in-between. The second round challenges them to walk a plank and collect two ribbons tied to it, while suspended in the air. Greg again goes first and sets a high standard by doing the maximum height, a frightening 20m up. Tim did the same second. Vesna was confident until it went up and then started freaking out. She managed to walk to the first ribbon at a low height but then had to give up. In the next round the HMs faced bugs, something none of them are fond of. Greg and Tim rocked off for the worst of the two and Greg lost and had to pull a ball out of a tub of worms. He ended up just brushing them out with his head. Tim got to stick his head into a box into which were tipped crickets, worms and cockroaches. Vesna got the easiest having to just put her hand into a box of crickets and pull out a ball which she pulled off well. The final round went back to the house were Gretel asked the three of them trivia questions based on their time in the house. In the end they won back quite a bit of money.

14 August 2005
In the aftermath of the games Vesna's freaking out about crickets that have come into the house. There's not much to see in these quiet days. Vesna considers running away and leaving without the others knowing? In the last Sunday night eviction it's a surprise to see Vesna go. I figured it would be her and one of the boys. Go Tim.

15 August 2005
With Vesna gone the boys had to wonder when they would be leaving. They had a quiet day, no survivor type reflections on the past housemates. Maybe that's for next year? The boys were given suits to wear and spent time in the reward room while Big Brother set up an outdoor theatre for them to watch the final show from inside the house. The finale show starts off with the former housemates doing a tapdogs style performance (at least it's better than the Neighbours dance at the Logies). There's the finale for the Best Dressed Fan with several cute kids. The boys get a special presentation of highlights of the news from Sandra Sulley, unfortunately this has a lot of bad news. The thing that makes the biggest impact on Tim is learning that the NSW premier stepped down. Once the package is finished Tim can't stop talking about this news while Greg politely nods. It's hilarious. He's interrupted by Gretel who comes into the house to give the two of them some personal news. Gretel then interviews the ex-HMs in small groups on stage recapping the time in the house a couple of weeks at a time. Finally the boys are let out of the house and get to hug each of the past housemates (the most interesting connections there are the Logans reunited and Tim and Kate). On stage they get asked the ten big brother questions (minus three though, the who will be out next week and who will win questions get dropped). The big announcement comes (after a mild interruption by some guys storming the stage) and it's a bit of a let down. The Logans win rather than Tim. Greg was my least favourite of the final three, and the fact that David won as well isn't great. Tim is the only one who spent all the time in the house and his story was much more interesting. Greg didn't show any growth or development between entering and leaving and I still don't think we saw the real Greg (only aspects). Tim, you're the winner in my books!

Big Brother 2005 Week Thirteen

1 August 2005
Kate's gone from the BB house! Kind of figured it would be her, although it's odd that the final four include a replacement and an intruder. I don't think that's happened before! They could probably throw in six replacement housemates now and keep the show going another month! Tim is obviously upset and has retreated to the toilets to cry.

In retaliation for Tim's War on Dirt, the girls declare a War on Tim and a pillow fight between Tim and Mel begins, escalating to involve Kate as well. Greg watches from outside and gives us a look inside the house under natural light conditions that makes the house look more real than usual. Kate's not too upset to leave the house, already feeling like she would this week and happy with what she's had so far. The departure of course hits Tim hard and he has a cry in the toilets. Tim regrets his use of the three-point twist that put her up for eviction.

2 August 2005
Greg and the HMs go to feed the animals but are followed home and under the closing door by the goats. They have to throw food back under to lure them back. Vesna playfully yells at Mel for complaining about being fat and needing to lose weight. Tim cracks it over nominations, believing it to be rather unfair for them to have to nominate when there's so few of them left in the house and rants to BB in the diary room for a while. He later confides to Vesna that he's a little embarrassed about his performance last night.

3 August 2005
The remaining housemates are chained together in pairs. Tim and Mel get along ok, but Vesna and Greg are problems just waiting to start. Greg explains that he was annoyed by Vesna's comments about him not comforting people in the house. Greg's also aware of how Vesna is interested and mentions it jokingly, but tells her bluntly that he's not attracted to her. This gives Vesna something to stew over and wants further explanation. Greg digs his own hole by telling her the girls he has thought about that way and Vesna ends up in the toilet having a cry. The two of them are much noisier than Mel and Tim.

4 August 2005
The challenge is not helping morale in the house. There's suggestion of harassment of Greg by Vesna wanting to touch like friends. Tim and Mel later win a bowling competition and win several packets of chocolate biscuits. Vesna moans about not having the comfort of chocolate like she does in the real world, and that everything in the house is about competition. Greg does a nice thing by going to the diary room and asking to trade something for chocolate for Vesna, hoping it might make his time in chains more bearable.

5 August 2005
Today's Aluminium underpants day and Greg and Tim celebrate by wearing their special aluminium underpants all day. Overnight Vesna had enough of the chains and when Greg wanted to go to the toilet she decided enough's enough and took them off. Come morning, determined not to put them back on, the HMs were called to the diary room. BB was very unimpressed and fined each housemate $5,000 and banned Vesna from any participation in the kitchen or food preparation until further notice. Tim's had enough of Vesna not being able to deal with stress more quietly. When the chains are swapped to hook Tim and Greg tells Tim he was counting yesterday and Vesna whinged 78 times.

6 August 2005
Going up against the housemates this week were four former BB housemates: Jess (BB02), Jo (BB03), Paul and Wesley (BB04) and they were playing for $20,000 either for the ex-housemates or the for the prize kitty for the new housemates. The first game, carrying water on a bike started off badly when the bikes wouldn't work. They had to be swapped in and out a few times. The Ex-HMs won first. For the second round Bree and Ryan left the set to join in, Ryan with the HMs and Bree with the others. The second round involved climbing an inflatable pyramid for point cards. The HMs went first and Greg did an impressive job of climbing to the top to get the 100 points. Unfortunately then the ex-HMs moved in and trashed them, Wesley effortlessly getting to the top. In the final round Wesley went up against Greg with an obstacle course to complete inside a large suit, similar to the penguin one. Greg did a good job again only beaten by a faster Wesley. Wesley would have been great had they had Friday night games last year. So the HMs get no money and no rewards room, but they do return to a pizza meal.

7 August 2005
The housemates are back in chains after the games, but swapped around again, Tim with Vesna and Mel with Greg. Tim takes Vesna to do his washing, annoying her. They are given a mini task, the team that can build the tallest tower using junk and tape within ten minutes wins a takeaway dinner. Greg and Melanie win with their tall tower of Pringles boxes, while Tim and Vesna argue. The Housemates are told they have failed their task, understandably given the other night. Vesna's kitchen ban seems to have ended as well. Tim feels that he's helped Mel out of her shell but isn't sure what he thinks about her now.

Big Brother 2005 Week Twelve

25 July 2005
Rita and Christie leave the house in a double eviction but not before Rita gets to have an argument with Kate, again over Rita's habit of talking a lot and Rita's dislike of Kate. Kate regrets picking up Rita's clean towel my accident for the earful she receives. They have a laugh with Rita's farewell video but are more touched by Christie's. Christie does one of her word trip-ups and tells Kate she has a special part of my body, I mean in my heart. She also wants Greg to meet her family. That's not coming on too strong is it?

26 July 2005
Kate is keen to celebrate Christmas in July. It shows very good knowledge of the calendar from her. She's disappointed to get no presents from BB, not even a candy cane. Kate plans a nice dinner of satay meat and rice and Vesna is keen to help. Too keen, pretty much doing all the work. This goes against the role of shopper/chef so BB confiscates it. Vesna is of course mad as a cut snake. The HMs were also given their weekly task. They have to make a movie, featuring certain lines. Late night the HMs try singing a Christmas carol to BB and are rewarded with chocolate, biscuits and wine.

27 July 2005
Vesna tastes some of dinner while Kate is still cooking and Mel's doing 100 laps of the courtyard. She's summoned straight to the diary room and is very embarrassed. It was a bad day overall for her with her missing out on the hot water for the showers by seconds. disrobing as the water was shut off. The housemates are also filming their video with an added proviso that it is now an American co-production and thus requires them to do American accents. This isn't adding anything to it, and is more annoying than funny. The wigs though make the female HMs look really different.

28 July 2005
Today the film has been changed again and needs to be a dubbed film with the soundtrack recorded first. The name of the film is Desperate Housemates. Was that show on the air when they went in? Had it become popular. I'm thinking that for all they know the show has already been moved to 1130 Wednesdays. Over dinner the tough questions are asked. Greg opens up about his relationship with Christie and how comfortable she made him feel about being openly affectionate. Kate is asked if she feels like she always wants to be the centre of attention and being too confident. Mel explains that she has insecurity and trust issues which is the reason she's reserved in the house.

29 July 2005
Tim, this week's housekeeper, decides to entertain himself by launching a war on grime. The movie is finished but not before the final twist of doing the last bits as a musical. They're given a wrap party after hot showers and getting dressed up but Kate (especially) get depressed when they realise that food isn't going to be surprised. Kate's also jealous of Vesna being all over Greg commenting to Mel that Ves would never have done that if Christie was still in the house.

30 July 2005
The theme for the games tonight was all-Aussie adventures. The first game involved them applying vegemite n toast with their tongue, them carrying it in their mouths to a board on a bouncing ball. Not exactly pleasant but the boys did it really easily and Ves lost. In the second round they were dressed in large animal costumes, not as large as the penguins though. They had to put on underpants run to a clothesline and then swap them for famous quotes to match on a board. Greg in the Koala costume was very awkward taking several humorous spills and trips. The girls didn't do much better, Kate not knowing Bert's "Here's Moira", and she and Mel go out. In the last round the boys have to guide Bert's 'hairpiece' around a maze with a leaf blower. Tim wins, second week in a row, and chooses to take Greg in to the rewards room after BB concludes that Greg was disadvantaged in the last round (by the pipe being blocked by feathers) and has the boys rock off in the diary room to decide. I think he might have taken Kate in other circumstances.

31 July 2005
The housemates enjoy a pre-games BBQ. Greg and Tim both come out to join in because there's plenty of food to go around. The HMs also get to see the premiere of their video (The title Desperate Housemates seems to have been added by BB) and have a good laugh. In the now girls only bedroom the girls quiz Kate about why she doesn't like Tim and she gives the same excuses she always does. Poor Timmy. The next morning Tim gives out the tasks for the week to few complaints. When the housemates go to feed the animals they find the goats have jumped out of their pens and are running around. Talking in the sauna Mel explains how she gets annoyed by Tim hiding behind big words and doesn't get along with Greg. Kate also thinks that Vesna is jealous of Mel.

Vesna gets a personal challenge of hosting a successful dinner party in reward for sweets (ice-cream and chocolates). The dinner part is fine but she has to keep conversation going for an hour with no more than five seconds silence without arousing the other's suspicion. This is not so easy. Vesna just keeps talking trying to make conversation but her thought processes come across as very weird to everyone. The conversation ends up with the HMs thinking that she's a twin, a mole, an actor, has mental problems, a bloke? Despite the HMs running off to hide in the backyard when she moves to the sink in the final few minutes, she passes and the HMs enjoy their deserts.

Big Brother 2005 Week Eleven

18 July 2005
Last night it was finally time for Dean to go. He had a good run, surviving an almost eviction so early on, and really ruling the house. He should have gone weeks back. David is most sad to see Dean go but is pissed by the way Vesna asked him if he was going to cry. David followed Dean around loyally and is so sad to lose him, and given the way that Christie and Greg have been mucking around, perhaps one of the Logan twins is gay but it's not the one we always expected? Christie then dresses both of them up in women's clothing just to confuse the issue (and because she's bored). In the farewell videos Dean's quite nice to the girls, despite being honest with Vesna and Rita, and to his new best friend David.

19 July 2005
Rita, Vesna and Mel are discussing David. They reckon that David likes Mel but Mel is completely uninterested in David. This weeks task is the Big Brother Brigade, with scout-type uniforms and challenges based on learning survival skills. Rita and Kate are growing to dislike each other, complaining to Vesna and BB respectively. Kate and David break up a checkers game the other housemates were playing as a part of a mini-reward challenge annoying them. They got the tennis ball back and then quickly lost it over the fence again in a night game of cricket. The boys decided to keep themselves entertained by walking around the perimeter of the backyard with their eyes closed. The girls decide to play with them putting some stuff in their way and sprinkling them with water.

20 July 2005
Early in the morning Tim and Kate get to have another round and this one ends with Kate in tears in the diary room. Tim's affections are starting to creep her out. She's feeling pressure each time he talks about it and is worried that he's thinking that if he mentions it enough maybe she will turn around and say she likes him. Housemates are kicked out of the house to spend time outdoors as part of a scout challenge. Vesna is the most vocal complainer which isn't very surprising. Queensland's winter rain isn't going to make it very comfortable. By dinner time Vesna is ropable and when Rita requests different food Vesna goes off. This leads to an angry Rita and the girls arguing. Mel gets to be the featured housemate trying to use the outside toilet.

21 July 2005
The HMs are back in the house and Vesna with a fierce look in her eyes is yelling at everyone suggesting this is a temporary situation. Tonight's show devotes a lot of it's time to replaying last night's twin eviction. (There is a clear difference between a twin eviction and a double eviction despite the names being similar.) The sudden eviction of a twin came as a big surprise to the housemates who were sent to various places around the house to nominate privately. It was like a tour of the house, one in the bathroom, one in the bedroom, one in the garden, one in the rewards room etc. Four votes for David sealed his fate, only Kate and Vesna choosing to evict Greg. Rita voted for "Greg, I mean David" and then headed to the diary room in tears because she wasn't 100% sure of her decision. This gave the HMs a chance to talk about her positive-aggression and how to deal with her. Rita decides to camp out while the other housemates return to a smaller bedroom (now only half the size with the other room off limits).

22 July 2005
They finished the task early, for a change, with the housemates tested on their scout skills and doing passably well. Rita continues to exasperate the housemates. Vesna is annoyed when Rita interferes with Christie trying to prepare lunch. Tim cracks it when she comes and joins him in doing the dishes. Greg tries to politely get her away for him but is unsuccessful. Tim is quietly rude and Rita just smiles it off in that aggressively nice way of hers as him letting out a day of frustration.

23 July 2005
It was a do it yourself theme for the Friday night games. This involved in the HMs having to assemble their own chair (with Greg losing that round). The second round involved pairs carrying a ladder between paint tins on poles. That round removed Vesna and Rita. Christie and Kate lost the next round which involved painting a house cut out to reveal numbers that then needed to be added up. In the final round Tim went up against Mel on mini ride on tractors. Mel went first and was going pretty well, knocking down the mannequin goalie notwithstanding until she first rolled over the ball and then knocked it into a corner (and she had been so close). She ended up running out of time. Tim kept better control with the tractor and was able to push the ball along most of the way.

24 July 2005
In the continuing saga of Kate and Tim, Tim decides to give the video message he won as part of the reward to Kate. Kate is in tears and is worried about accepting it because she knows he's doing it because he's in love with her. Christie is upset, jealous of Kate and how she has the boys wrapped around her fingers. The chance to get a message from home is something she'd really like so seeing it go to someone else really strikes a nerve. Kate spends an hour watching and re-watching the message from her mum and sharing it with her housemates. The HMs have been away from their families for a very long time now so that's understandable.

Big Brother 2005 Week Ten

11 July 2005
The girls are turning against Rita now because of her know-it-all and tell-it-all attitude. David and Vesna have it out a bit, with a relapse late out by the spa. David reckons that maybe he treats her too much like a bloke and will have to watch it (the way he does with Christie). With Hotdogs gone, Vesna's sad and the boys are realising that they're outnumbered. For nominations the Logans had to choose between saving themselves or Kate or Rita, and obviously they saved themselves, putting Dean and Tim up for nomination.

12 July 2005
Christie has for $10 bought back all the toiletries the housemates had to give up and the girls are going crazy over them (more so than the Pringles and Tim tams). Vesna is particularly in a good mood but Dean and his follower David are also happy with the hair gel. The boys have a game of cricket (until David hits a 6) and then work out at the gym. The girls meanwhile test the boy's cologne (Kate doesn't like the one that her gay boyfriend used to wear) and have a day of beauty treatments. Up late, Tim and Kate are discussing their relationship again, Tim likes Kate and is attracted to her, Kate likes Tim but is not attracted to him. Yes, again!

13 July 2005
The girls are dominating the house and tonight the show. Rita and Michelle and Christie have a heated discussion in the kitchen over lunch. Rita really doesn't know when to shut up. Dean walks in and quickly walks out but when he mentions it outside Vesna heads in to join in. Kate follows but keeps a distance. There are tears and trips to the bedroom. Rita tells Christie to be more confronting and Christie does leaving Vesna in tears. The boys meanwhile don't know what to make of it, and Tim seems to have vanished altogether (maybe he's in the isolation room?).

14 July 2005
After their discussion yesterday Vesna has decided to confront the Logans. Today she's really going after David who is indeed not taking confrontation well. They don't usually mention the website on the show but Vesna's trip to the diary room to write an online diary entry about what she thinks of the other housemates. Claiming she wrote something deep about the Logans but not wanting to talk about it caused a bit of grief between her and David. She also has a heart to heart with Greg who tries to defend being one part of a two part whole but doesn't do it very well.

15 July 2005
The girls are the focus again. Tonight Rita's angry over being called a bitch last night by some of the girls, but none of the girls can remember actually saying that. Christie is determined that she doesn't like Rita and is second guessing picking her as the Intruder to stay. In the real world she wouldn't have anytime for her but Christie doesn't seem to understand that in the real world you're often put into situations, mostly through work, where you have to get to know people you don't like.

16 July 2005
A snow theme for the games last night. The first game was rather simple, four people per team on one set of skis having to in time step around and grab some balls. In the second round they brought back the fan but added a Survivor-esque puzzle which could only be assembled after one team member faced the fan several times. Looked like Christie was going to have too much trouble putting together the igloo to pull through, but she and Greg pulled it off. The last round was a time-trial race but this one put Christie and Greg into giant penguin costumes struggling to get around a couple of slippery obstacles. Greg got pulled up and had to start again for not going upright. (It was good to see BB put some time penalties into play this week). Watching the penguins suits stumbling around was pretty funny. Christie wasn't going very well and didn't complete it, stopping when she went over Greg's time. The others came over to help her up and she did only to faint seconds later. Quick cut away to the studio and when we next saw her she was being helped to a chair by the ninjas and Rita and given water due to overheating.

17 July 2005
With the Logans in the rewards room the girls have noticed that Dean's lost without them. Dean though is getting a headache from Rita asking Vesna if she ever shuts up. Vesna comments that she's silent in comparison, and being frank tells Rita as she passes that Dean wants her to be quiet. In the rewards room David takes the couch so Greg and Christie can have the bed. They kiss after the lights go out and the next day Christie's quite happy to have restarted their relationship, nervously asking him in to the room to watch a movie. The tap dancing routines were actually quite impressive for amateurs, with Dean, David and Mel winning a group reward of a special Thai dinner.

Big Brother 2005 Week Nine

4 July 2005
Greg's unexpected (From the housemate's perspective) departure hits the house hard. Heath got a strike for something we didn't see, but it was a breach of the guidelines and it looked like it had something to do with his pants being down. Maybe Gretel will give us some clues in the eviction show. Christie lets the cat out of the bag and tells Greg that Kate likes him. You knew that didn't you? No he didn't. Kate's feelings are stronger than I had realised and it's causing her a lot of grief.

5 July 2005
Vesna is farm hand again and continues to hates the animals. The Intruders get a scene to themselves where Heath insults Melanie. Kate and Christie spend the day not talking to each other and finally sit down in the Kitchen to discuss Greg. Christie tells her how she told them that Kate likes them and Kate is not impressed, angry that she's not feeling sorry about it. Meanwhile in the sauna Greg and Tim discuss Kate, Tim seems jealous in a way, listing all the things he likes about her. Dean is a jerk, under his breath to David saying he hoped Tim was up and insulting Melanie who has a whinge with Kate.

6 July 2005
Last night it was Christie vs Kate. Tonight it was Tim vs Dean and these two boys weren't playing nice like the girls. They had a long argument about the outcome of the prank and Tim's revelation of it to the girls. Then they broke that up and Tim went and spilled his guts to Kate and then Greg, while Dean did likewise with Hotdogs. Hotdogs then had a at Tim over the dinner table while Dean was just not wanting to talk to him. Dean thinks he rules his house (and to a big part he does) but I like that there are some people in there that will stand up to him. Then we saw the eviction of one of the intruders, Heath, and the survival

7 July 2005
The cleaning task this week has been given little run until today. It's a bit too complicated anyway, the housemates have to clean, keep a cleaning instrument close by, not swear (again just like in the school challenge are they trying to teach the HMs something?) and confess their impure thoughts. Dean bosses Christie around as she's watering the concrete and he wants her inside helping the others. He's far too bossy. Then later, in the spa with Dean and Vesna, Christie runs her mouth off being very nasty about Mel who she finds boring and too much like Kate who's personality she don't like. Meanwhile at least Hotdogs is reaching out to her.

8 July 2005
Tim pulls Dean outside to talk about their arguments. The two of them really don't like each other and I'm siding with Tim on this one. Christie can't see that Dean is mean and egotistical. Is she just being a yes-woman for Dean or does she really not see it. She's been showing a nasty side in the past week, especially when she's with Dean. David suggests that the winner of Friday night take Vesna in because she's been complaining. This upsets her and Hotdogs has a go a nasty go at her leaving her in tears

9 July 2005
The first task, bursting balloons suffered again from the one team at a time problem, it's better when they are all racing at once. Somehow the housemates kept tearing their pants in this part. Again also they weren't penalised for breaking the rules. Housemates could only burst balloons with their chests or bums but those who weren't, didn't get penalised, so why not. The second round were tied up pairs had to collect moon rocks was runniest when Tim and Kate tried as they did the worst effort, and were the only two to fall over. In the end, Greg just trashed Christie in the big balls, taking out his balloons very quickly. The Logans chose to take Dean with them (as they rewarded Hotdogs last week and saved Tim from nominations).

10 July 2005
With Dean and the Logans in the rewards room, the girls are ruling the house and Hotdogs doesn't like it. He and Vesna continue their odd arguing relationship. As a final part of the cleaning task the house has been messed up badly overnight. Despite the mess they did do a very good job of getting the place looking good in their allocated hour. While the farmhand is feeding the animals, a very high schooly clique of Dean, Christie, David and Hotdogs sit together and make fun of Rita talking too much. Dean is top dog again and he needs to be removed from the house for more than just one weekend. The walls down now, back to one bedroom.

Big Brother 2005 Week Eight

27 June 2005
Dean so needed to go yesterday he's leading the boys and it's not a good thing. Today the boys, still in their boys room are being rather mean about Christie. Sure she might be annoying to live with, but their comments were getting cruel and she would have been devastated to hear them. Instead Geneva left which upset Chrisite but left the house with an even bigger difference in the ratio of women to men. Five people up for nominations thanks to Kate saving Christie rather than herself. It better be one of the guys (Hotdogs, Glenn or Dean) that go.

28 June 2005
The housemates are going back to school complete with uniforms and class band. The housemates have got new d?cor in their bedroom making the split boys and girls room official. The swearing in uniform thing it going to be tough for the housemates to avoid. David's already had two sets of lines, and Christies had another. Dean's being a bit too dominant, now insisting on penalising the housemates for getting fines. Gotta vote him out. Vesna's finding another thing to complain about, her uniform being a size too big.

29 June 2005
The school task is fun but with them sitting in school uniforms answering questions it brings to mind the ads for 'The Housemates Challenge' on Sale of the Century five years back. David and Glen both got sent to the Dunce corner and several of them got lines. They had a rain day, stuck inside with the rain, and Vesna was a bit too energetic for the others leading a new group of the in-house superheroes (there's some ideas for the next eviction dressup kiddies).

30 June 2005
The school kids got detention for having messy dormitories. The history lesson was tough for nearly all the kids. Does anybody in class know the answer besides Tim? The band needs a lot more practice. They're not taking the school room stuff very seriously, I wonder how success in this task is going to be measured? Rita, Heath, and Melanie have entered the house. Not sure if the existing housemates really needed to see the videos. Melanie and Christie are like a day apart in age and clicking. The girls and the boys are bonding, the girls over gossip and later a group sauna, well except Dean and David who are having a separate debrief in the sauna and then in the lounge. Lots of little conversations going on though around the house about the new housemates and first impressions.

1 July 2005
A group of new school kids joined the class for their final day in a darkened classroom thanks to problems caused by Queensland's bad weather. Tim and the Logans got in trouble for language and were given punishments. The Logans had to empty a bucket of water into another bucket by spoon. Tim got to use his dormant writing skills in preparing an essay on the wrongs of swearing. At night the housemates had a school formal where classmates got to go on dates. Much was made of Heath choosing Kate to be his date, slow dancing and kissing her. There was also much kissing between partnered Hotdogs and Vesna.

2 July 2005
The Intruders got to skip straight to the second round of the games tonight. The others got another carry an item task, this time sushi with chopsticks. The second round, with a blindfolded rickshaw rider carrying around a blindfolded passenger while a third housemate guided them. This led to an accident where one of the drivers, Melanie I think (or maybe Rita?) kept running over the finishing line straight into the wall! The third round was hilarious. The housemates were up against an industrial sized fan and had to get right to the end to fetch something tied to a post. Greg, Heath and Christie put up a good effort but they were being blown over, backwards and sideways, hindered by the large bits of fabric tied to their backs. In the end, Greg won and, after being told his brother would be going into the rewards room with him be default, chose Hotdogs to spend the weekend with them.

3 July 2005
Kate likes Greg and it's getting out there thanks to Vesna going out and asking Greg directly if he has any feelings for her. It's probably an after effect of the school task making her sound like a schoolgirl. The task is finished off with a general knowledge class, the performance of the national anthem (not too bad considering), and a swimming carnival. And on the eviction show Shearer goes. Bit unfair to spring Michelle on him, He clammed up, understandably, as Michelle had a justified go at him. High percentage of the vote though, 49%, for a week with five people up.

Big Brother 2005 Week Seven

20 June 2005
Vesna is whining today, having to clean windows and not wanting to do the farmhand task, especially in the rain. Hotdogs got a strike for 'sexual harassment'. We saw a lot of Rachel's video, the longest we've seen on the show so far, the housemates thought it was pretty funny but gave her applause for it. I had become a little sympathetic to Rachel (from Sunday's show), but seeing her on the nominations show stole that away. Dean put himself up for nomination by taking points off Geneva, which may prove to be fatal.

21 June 2005
Vesna's digging her own eviction hole. After a golf game the housemates were set out to feed the animals (so BB could set up the house for this week's task) and Vesna was whining something shocking. It's her week to be farmhand and she's not happy about it and she's telling everyone about it. Now the house is set up to Masters and Servants, it's not going well. The Servants are finding it hard, and at bed time Vesna took that occasion to complain some more. This led to a full on argument between Dean and Vesna (that the Masters were listening to through the wall).

22 June 2005
Following Chrisitie commenting on it, Geneva and Vesna had a bit of confrontation. Vesna is really starting to crack under the pressure of the task. The late night requests and the complain time really got to her. Kate's not happy to clean the toilets as punishment for Glen saying please. Christie is keeping it together outside but shows that it's getting to her in the diary room.

23 June 2005
Vesna continues to freak out over the servants task. The servants got switched around, but it wasn't the servants/master switch which is still likely to come. The Logans ended up partnered giving an opportunity for brotherly pranks. Kate was given the task to clean the shower and ended up singing and yelling that she was like Cinderella.

24 June 2005
Now the servants have become the masters. Christie thinks it's fun to keep buzzing Geneva, but Geneva is losing it quickly. The Logans have switched and now is the opportunity for some revenge. Lack of toilet paper became a big issue, with Kate having a go at the former masters for not getting toilet paper. Kate got the alcohol confiscated for having a bit too much to drink.

25 June 2005
Friday night games were the same sort of thing again. The first task was an obstacle course very much like something out of Survivor, with three teams of three all tied together. The egg-throwing was a little silly. The final task again went into Survivor territory with a gross-out eating contest. Even after eyes, testicles it came down to Kate and Tim eating a full onion which Kate was able to win. She's taking Geneva into the rewards room.

26 June 2005
With Geneva and Kate in the rewards room Chrisite and Vesna are left alone with the six blokes in the house and it's getting to them. The boys headed into the diary room for a somewhat sexist male perspective on the living with women. Geneva finally gets to kiss Hotdogs (after "a very, very long time") but Kate has to awkwardly interrupt. Vesna's not happy on hearing that and has followed up with him afterwards. The boys aren't happy with the task allocations, and how she hasn't given herself a task. The wall between the masters and servants bedrooms is still up so the boys are claiming one half for themselves. BB's messing with the housemates by moving those up for nomination straight to the rewards room. Ultimately Vesna, Hotdogs, and Dean went back into the house and Geneva went on stage. The brief flashes of Intruders showed us that they seem to be putting Sara-Marie, Paul and Jemma/Bree back into the house. The guy, an electrician sounds just like Logan David, also an electrician. Weird.

Big Brother 2005 Week Six

13 June 2005
Kate and Tim had a very flirty moment getting ready for the Eviction show. Vesna and Hotdogs got close too. Post eviction: Shearer does not appear at all upset by Michelle's eviction. Kate's the most upset while Hotdogs seems more upset that he didn't go. Michelle was gracious and polite to Rachel in her farewell video which came as a little bit of a surprise. Dean wants to make a new record for the number of evictions survived.

14 June 2005
David is suffering from his friendship with Dean. Dean rules the house as alpha-male and no one's closer to him than Dean. Greg meanwhile is nicer (he was a bit mean with Christie). Tonight David decided to emulate Dean and have a meaningless argument with Rachel, seemingly just for the sake of it, but also I think because of the Dean influence. The photo task is funny so far. Geneva's admitted to Hotdogs about feeling jealous over his relationship with Vesna.

15 June 2005
The photo montage was short and to the point. Dean lost the house dinner by sampling before Geneva. Rachel joined the boys in their abs exercises. Glen's quietly hitting on Kate in the spa. Christie seems to be losing the task for them single-handily by giggling. Greg's aware of how his brother is under Dean's spell. Tim's getting a little vain and asking for supplements (beefcake, beefcake!).

16 June 2005
Geneva's upset by the popularity contest of the Big Brother house, but not the outside part of it but the internal fighting. She sees it as just like school and thinks they can always find something wrong with her. I can feel like that too. She also sees herself as the least attractive girl which she's not! As for attractiveness, fireman Logan in the calendar photo shoot montage was looking quite alright. I though it was funny though to see Hotdogs shaving his fingers in the bathroom.

17 June 2005
The newbies are worried about not being seen as housemates or as intruders. It is a weird situation to have replacements. Rachel decides not to be as horrible as she admits she was in the first two days. The calendar task has ended with a dance party that's got the girls bitching, the guys are on the dancefloor with the pretty girl (Kate) and Rachel kiss and tells after kissing Tim, and lots of bed hoping when the lights go out.

18 June 2005
Last night's games were wet and wild. The fish and chips game was a silly. The number of people meant that in the second round meant one of the losers could survive, and it was Geneva, apparently because she was the only one on the losing team that hadn't been in the rewards room yet. The sponge task was pretty unique but the second team didn't seem to learn anything from watching the first, and Geneva is the sponge suit wasn't able to cope with it. On the final challenge, it looked like Rachel might go okay, but Dean pulled it off and took Hotdogs into the rewards room with him.

19 June 2005
Geneva's on Hotdog's case to do the washing up but he's enjoying the rewards room. Hotdogs isn't helping by coming out of the rewards room drunk. Tim and Rachel are working through their friendship after their kiss. Drunk Hotdogs isn't winning any friends, making Glen mad, and then left Vesna in tears.

Big Brother 2005 Week Five

6 June 2005
The girls, Michelle, Kate and Christie perv on Greg as he skips shirtless out in the sun. Geneva took Michaels' eviction very bad, and is very upset by it. Everyone else is annoyed by how Rachel seems to be overreacting to it, except Tim who has gathered some sympathy for her over their weekend together. The girls decide to swap beds, putting them all on the other side of the room from Rachel. I think this is a rather childish act. The nominees are Dean, Hotdogs and Michelle with Christie saved by Rachel's nominations twist. I think it's time for Dean to leave this week even though he is the only person that confronts Rachel.

7 June 2005
Logan is shopping and cooking this week, one task per twin. Greg wasn't a very good shopper distracted by the change to the phone messages which meant he could only get one of those. However he ended up with $57 left to shop with when time ran out. He then lied to the housemates about how much he had left. Kate was in tears over this knowing that she wasn't going to get the message despite all her best efforts last week, and then upset that people were going to give it to her because she was in tears. They voted, without having to say how it affects their time in the house, and Hotdogs won. Meanwhile Tim confessed on and on to Shearer about how much he likes Kate. He's so obviously smitten. Shearer meanwhile ended up in bed with Michelle, finally.

8 June 2005
Vesna is feeling invisible. They set the table without her while she was in the diary room and started eating. I would feel invisible too. I like the variety of buzzers they found for this years hear a noise and run task. Having to then spend 15 minutes cooking seems like a bit of overkill. At bedtime Shearer and Michelle went to bed together, and so did Greg and Christie!

9 June 2005
Michelle went off completely at Rachael. Rachael continues to be incredibly annoying and is not winning any friends in the house. Surely she will be up for nomination next week.

11 June 2005
I missed half an hour of last night's games. The first few games were fun. The pie-eating contest too far too long to go through (probably the longest session Big Brother's ever had without an ad break) but it was funny. The duck shoot was really funny, seeing the losers of the first round getting whacked with the sponges. Missed the next two rounds and came back into find that Michelle and Shearer have moved into the reward room for the weekend.

12 June 2005
Shearer and Michelle spent an awkward time in the reward room. Michelle has decided she doesn't really like him that much, and Shearer is confessing to the guys in the spa that he's just having fun with her but it's no great romance. Rachel continues to mystify the other housemates who sit quietly in the house and listen to her out in the spa singing the Hokey Pokey to herself.

Big Brother 2005 Week Four

30 May 2005
Hotdogs got some much needed depth when he told his story about his father to Geneva. None of the housemates seemed too sad to see Gianna go. The nominations aren't that surprising. I'm going to vote for Dean, but Michael is so annoying too. As long as it's one of them and not Christie (although her drunkenness on last night's daily show might work against her).

31 May 2005
Michael is being a bossy britches about the task and keeping the house clean. What makes him think he's so special. Kate's formal apology to Christie was pretty silly (and felt like she was playing for the camera or the post-eviction videos) but it turned into such a classic girls in the bathroom scene.

1 June 2005
Kate's mission is funny. She couldn't keep a straight face after taking a chance and stealing the first head after going to the diary room after bed time. So there is a mole in the house, only briefly and not quite what I thought it would be when a . On the intruders special Gretel gave a good review of romance in the house over the last week. This show is such a soap. Of the new housemates, blond Queensland bimbo Rachel I dislike already. 'I'm going to flirt with all the boys and I'm going to be actress afterwards'. Time to go Rachel. The other, well she made no impression past the wog-girl stereotype.

2 June 2005
Tim is quite disconcerted by the missing head but Kate's playing it cool. Michelle's helping Kate by turning the tables, maybe you hid it on us. Everyone's so concerned that it's going to cost them the task. One of the housemates even raised the suggestion that 'there is a Mole, who is the Mole?'. They've got quite good at the dancing. Hot Dogs seems to be getting along well with Vesna, very well indeed. I've got some respect for Dean though for laying into Rachel and stopping her short, leaving her lamely speechless. Geneva summed her up best, "She's freaking cuckoo".

3 June 2005
The Kate and Tim game is pretty funny. Kate took a big chance taking another head while she was supposed to be farming. Tim needs to catch her in the act though but she's clearly his prime target. For the other housemates though Tim seems to be paranoid (Watching Christie getting concerned over Tim as he wandered around shocked after getting up and finding a second decapitation was very funny.)

4 June 2005
Last night's weekly task showed up flaws with the format. The second team always had the advantage of being able to see how the first team went wrong and correct those mistakes. The pizza carrying was silly, but the wine carrying though was really funny. I could have watched Dean trying to fill a bowl on his head with a ladle for the whole three minutes of his team's go through. I don't think it's fair for Rachel to have won though, she doesn't need the reward. She was all excited about chocolate and Sprite, but she's only been in the house for three days or so. It felt like playing for the camera. She's chosen Tim, because he was runner up, but Big Brother must be happy for it to finally be a male/female couple in there. Up-late's camera was sitting impatiently on the two of them laying together watching DVDs in anticipation.

5 June 2005
While the housemates are worrying about toilet paper and trying to swap something with Big Brother for some, Kate manages to steal her third dummy head. Meanwhile Michelle has found Dean's secret spare rool of toilet paper (that Tim found the other day as well). Kate was grinning like an idiot as Big Brother slowly revealed the secret tasks and that she had won them a preview screening of Mr and Mrs Smith.

Big Brother 2005 Week Three

23 May 2005
David is being a bit mean. The scene of the boys making fun of Gianna was mean-hearted. The strike to Kate and Angela over their discussion seems a little unfair. It wasn't really nomination talk except at a big stretch. Angela was funny on the nominations show and it's a loss to have her out of the house in my opinion.

24 May 2005

Geneva's mucked up with the shopping task, leaving a bag of shopping behind and isn't she paying for it? Gianna's apologising to other housemates for choosing her at all. I am liking the supermarket sweep shopping style though. Gianna has also taken her nomination badly but the other housemates really aren't all that sympathetic to her.

25 May 2005
Tonight was the Tim vs Christie show. The honeymoon period is over and Tim's not taking any more jokes on him. Christie's upset because he went off at her overnight, but the others are all on his side and can see it was "like the straw that broke the camel's back". They had a tearing discussion at night time and all seems resolved. Meanwhile the new challenge, a I Love Lucy-style conveyor belt is rather fun although I can't see them passing it with how many breakages they are making so far.

26 May 2005
It's all about the love connection tonight. This is reality TV at it's most soap-like. 'Shearer' seems to pretty popular with the ladies. Logan got to have an argument in the diary room, apparently they haven't lived together since boarding school. Greg and Christie were talking about who was attracted to who, and Christie said she liked him, he said me but at the same time rubbed his eyes furiously making him look like he was lying.

27 May 2005
The conveyor belt task is over and it turns out that punctuality was more important than collecting everything off the belts (they failed anyway). That makes more sense because it was just too fast for anyone to actually be collect everything and looked like it was more about creating slapstick comedy.

28 May 2005
Last night's challenge wasn't as captivating as the past two. I thought it odd to split it up between the girls and the boys. Obviously boys might be faster than girls but usually events are between teams. This running race really was an individual challenge right from the start. It was good to see a girl win and for another two new people to go into the reward room. Both Michelle and Kate look quite thrilled to be in there, and the sponsors must be thrilled Kate read out the titles of all the DVDs they have available to watch.

29 May 2005
Christie got off her face after the Friday night events, so much so that Big Brother locked her in the air lock for her own safety. That's a first. I was a little surprised they showed so much of it in the daily show. Then in the live show It was time to go Gianna. Not really that surprising given the amount of focus on her in the past few weeks. I don't like the look of the two new bimbos they're setting up as intruders.

Big Brother 2005 Week Two

16 May 2005
The show's going on a bit tonight and it's all very confusing. Well nominations are pretty much the same as always, but as winner of the Friday night games Glen gets to change it all by taking three points off others. The housemates have also been given the opportunity to vote for people going under the radar, presumably to prevent people like Ben, Pete and Trevor from winning. Geneva, Tim and Angela are up. I like Geneva and Angela so I guess it's time to vote for Tim. First though we have to vote out one of the half-evicted people from yesterday. That's in tomorrow's live show.

17 May 2005
Out go Constance and Nelson. Nelson looked quite upset by it all on Rove. Surely it couldn't have just been because he didn't get the goodies? He was pretty convinced he was going to get them when he sat on the couch with Gretel. Meanwhile Constance, despite having a spunky boyfriend, was revealing too much of a foul mouth on live TV. Dean's not too impressed to be up for eviction this week as well, insisting that he didn't lie and countering Big Brother's claims. It wouldn't be fair for him not to have been nominated too. It makes the decision on who to vote for easier. In the daily show we got some bitching going on around the house after nominations and some tears after the return of the temporarily evicted housemates. I thought Angela caved into Michelle's tears too early, first she's saying the equivalent of I don't like you, then it's well actually I like you but others have been saying this and that.

20 May 2005
The task is a big deal tonight. In the past couple of series weekly tasks sometimes disappear into the background in some weeks. The first task was barely seen. Tonight though there was a segment devoted to showing them finishing off their perfect housemate 'Jesse'. Logan (Greg) is questioned about his sexuality. This follows Logan (David) telling saying he was gay quite offhand and then some brainstorming by Christie and Geneva. He bluffs his way through without actually saying yes or no. Hmm, could the rumours be true?

21 May 2005
Last night's challenge was interesting mostly for the reveal of the bowling alley next to the diary room. It's been sealed up now though but I'd think they'll get it back eventually. The challenges still feel like something out of Survivor, complete with half of Logan having to sit out to make the teams even. As winner Gianna's taken Christie in with her to enjoy the goodies and I reckon they'll hang in there more than the boys did. They were in there during Up Late this morning while the others were hanging around outside.

22 May 2005
So Gianna wasn't popular in high school and is finding that the house is a little like high school and Christie is advising her to talk to David. In reverse she's telling Christie that Greg like her. Hey they got the blowing alley back to play with as party of their party. David dropped a bombshell to the others, saying he's not interested in her that much at all. Bastard! They finally get to talk at 4.30 in the morning and David lets her down as gently as he can, but not with much subtlety. I haven't voted this week and now that Angela's gone I'm kicking myself. Dean had to go! Not her. So now I really have to vote each week!

Big Brother 2005 Week One

8 May 2005
A new series of Big Brother begins. My first impressions of the housemates:
  • Constance, the hair-dresser, is a bit of a wog girl, but might be a bit too in your face
  • Christie, the surfie-girl seems a little up herself
  • Michelle, a snobby girl based on the accent, the home and car in the package
  • Dean, strong boy, thinks he is funny but wants to stir the housemate which isn't always a great thing
  • Kate seems the most normal girl so far, most average, but not in a bad way
  • Logan comes across a little sleazy and another wannabe stirrer
  • Angela may be a mother figure but comes off as man-hungry (or desperate)
  • Glenn, the country boy, who's accent isn't helping him come across as an intellectual
  • Gianna, sporty and short, reminds me of people I've known through work
  • Tim, brainy, snobbish?
  • Nelson is a blokey bloke, another country boy, but not as country as Glenn
  • Michael is in there as the alternative bloke, bald, nose ring. He also thinks he's funny
  • Geneva, a bar girl, (reminds me of Kellie and Brooke from work) out to be out there
  • Hotdogs (Simon), way too into himself and over confident, bit of a show off
  • The hooded 15th housemate... a twin. Ah. So no mole as such, rather a literal impostor, interesting this could be a lot of fun

10 May 2005
Day two in the house and of those who received some focus tonight: Kate still reminds me of someone but I'm liking her more. I'm liking Nelson less. Tim and Chrissie still annoy me. I'm missing the separate Kitchen. I liked that the last two series had the little kitchen to split the housemates up, somewhere to go and hang out, especially since the bedrooms were merged.

11 May 2005
Poor Logan. Swapped back and under interrogation from the other housemates, particularly Constance, for the diary room visits. He seems to have been through a quite patch today but come out tonight. He blames it on being 'a bit crook'. No butt shots when they got changed tonight though. Obviously bare male buttocks is an after 7:30 thing.

12 May 2005
Kate and Nelson don't get along, but they're very vocal about it. Nelson admitted tonight that Kate reminds him of his ex. Something could come of this, except for Nelson wanting to be the farter. 'Who likes the farter?' Michelle gets a surprise birthday party but not before sooking about not having her birthday celebrated. This reminded me of my own forgotten birthday. One little mini-group may be forming between Constance, Geneva, Dean and Nelson but we'll see through eliminations. The Logan's have swapped again but without any obvious notice, however kissing Michelle in a spa-based game of spin the bottle could bite them. In a familiar double standard for Ten a kiss between two of the girls gets a lot more airtime, including the coming up preview, than a kiss between Michael and Logan that's they show through angles that obscure it as much as possible.

13 May 2005
The resolution of this week's task was a little strange. It wasn't the sort of personal questions I was expecting and thus I didn't even realise it was the task at first. I thought it was some other sort of game. In the sauna Kate admits to liking Tim but not finding him attractive. I know that can change, and she's going to give it time too it appears.

The challenge was fun. The hosting from the set was a little lame, but it was nice to see Bree again. The challenges were rather Survivor style, except Survivor never had motorised vehicles. Christie was hilariously bad. The final challenge was supposed to be a mental challenge but it was them hanging from a pole. That's a physical challenge. Good on Shearer to win. Seems the reward room is the waiting room but with more furniture. I think there remains another secret room between it and the diary room though.

14 May 2005
No daily show today. No show at all, except for the up late show continuing on from Friday night. I out it on while I was reading. A bunch of housemates were having a jolly old time in the spa continuing that kissing game. Logan (not sure which one it is right now) could be in trouble, his scar's missing! Christie is paying some close attention to his face, running her hand along both side of this forehead and his nose. Possibly they were all too drunk to have noticed. There talk about nominations was obviously going too far so it was no surprise when Big Brother called all housemates to the diary room.

15 May 2005
Big Brother is evicting Nelson, Constance and Dean. I went "what oh!" just like the housemates. They've been taken to the waiting room, which has three cots made up. That's harsh. What will happen next? Nelson was very honest about not being in the show for the experience but "for the goodies". That honesty's enough to make me like him more.

Glen has picked up on different vibes from Logan and in the diary room gets to meet Greg and David together. The look on his face is priceless. He's so blown away by it, glad he was right but still taken aback to see that the man he knew was two men.

Out he goes but it's cut off too early. The most we see is people cheering them (I wouldn't know who to cheer for.. which one of these have I been speaking too... I've been speaking to both!) Gianna is looking a little shell-shocked and based on how close she was getting to Logan in bed last night that's understandable.

My top 10 favourite moments of Big Brother 2004

WesleyNumber 10. Wesley sleepwalks down the aisle
During the wedding task, a dress up and get to a point task, there was one time where the whole group needed to get out there. Wesley was asleep but that didn't stop the other housemates dragging him up dressing him and pushing him down the aisle, while all the time Wesley struggled to open his eyes and understand what was going on and why he wasn't in bed anymore.
TerriNumber 9. "Terri, You are now a loser"
As punishment during the Winners and Losers task, that saw the house split down the middle, Terri had to leave the Winners side of the house and join the others on the losers side. As Terri waited to cross over, Big Brother announced "Terri, you are now a loser" which was probably the funniest thing BB has ever said to the housemates.
RyanNumber 8. Ryan breaks his nose
The most disgusting thing ever in the BB house was Ryan breaking his nose. Mucking around while jumping into the pool, Ryan managed to knee himself in the nose, dislocating cartilage. As blood streamed out Ryan, no stranger to such injuries after his footy days, reset his nose himself, snapping it back into position. If this wasn't bad enough he then played up to it -- faking a nose while tweaking his nose to the horror of the girls in the house.
AshaleaNumber 7. "I love that movie!"
Ashalea was sweet and innocent but came across as rather naive. When asked by Ash to explain naive, Merlin said it meant a little clueless. Ash came back with the perfect response "I love that movie!" And that's why we loved her.
Catherine finds outNumber 6. A million dollar secret
For several weeks evicted housemates had been told the prize was a million dollars. Most weren't that phased by it though. They were out of the running for it so it didn't have really that much impact. It wasn't until Gretel went in the house, and after playing some silly elimination games finally told one of the people still in the running, Catherine. This was when things got real. Catherine was brought to tears with the possibility. Her confidant Bree was flabbergasted. And the house was never quite the same after that, as everyone discovered a new determination to get along with everybody and stay in the house for as long as possible..
Monica and FryzieNumber 5. Monica and Fryzie
We watched for weeks as Ryan talked about his quest for love and his ideal woman. Then in came Monica and his prayers were answered. She was exactly the type of woman to win Ryan's heart, except for one thing -- her boyfriend. The producers must have been tickled pink as the sexual tension in the house rose and the storyliners created a triangle between the two of them and Bree. It culminated in Monica's farewell video to the housemates where she gushed about Ryan. Ryan watched mesmerised in some sort of shock, while the other giggled over how over the top she was being, and that video seemed to be the last straw for Ryan. There was an awkward for all reuniting of the two of them on stage on the second last eviction show, but at least for now there's no love match there. Just great drama.
Bree returnsNumber 4. "Bree, to the lounge room"
No one has ever left the house and gone back in as a housemate. Ever. Not in any of the series worldwide. Bree was wrongfully evicted due to a phone line problem. The actual evictee was kept a commonly known secret and evicted four days later. Was it a stunt? Well as Gretel was quick to point out why would a company agree to appear incompetent in such a public way. Anyway it worked out well. Bree, a significant contributor to the show was back into the house until the very last eviction and it was a shame she couldn't pull off a win.
Merlin protestsNumber 3. Free Ta Refugees
No one has ever left the house and made such an impact on stage as Merlin did in his silent protest. Sure his sign was kinda falling apart but it was a brave effort. You could see how nervous he was but he kept to his guns and it became the most memorable eviction show yet. Gretel pushed on wonderfully, proving her skill at hosting live television.
Ash in the boxNumber 2. Ash in the box
Poor Ashalea. Hiding in a box in a game of hide and seek, the other housemates scooped the box up and dumped it in the diary room. Ash unable to work out how to open it asked Big Brother for help. BB played along straight-faced (or voiced): "Have you spoken to your fellow housemates about this?" A person in a box talking to a disembodied voice. It doesn't get more surreal than that!
Paul vs MerlinNumber 1. Paul vs Merlin
This is when I knew for sure I did not want Paul to win. It made for great television, and was the best thing I saw on up-late. The argument started off quite civilly, but Paul would not let up. Merlin was in tears and trapped in the house had no where to go, and with Paul chasing him around determined to make his point, it felt cruel. Some of the housemates tried to break it up, Krystal being the least effective of these by just repeating the same incorrect thing over and over. Paul was clearly the bully and it tainted my view of him for the rest of the time in the house. Merlin won my sympathy and was ultimately far more forgiving of Paul than I would have been. Perhaps the most real moment of the entire series this year; it was uncomfortable to watch and not be able to intervene. It let the housemates truly forget the cameras and speak their minds and show brutally honest emotions. That makes it my favourite moment of this year's series.
